I lost only 0.5 kg this week. Hmf. Maybe it’s because I didn’t exercise at all. I’m not used to waking up really early when I’m not in my own bed. I spent the week at Tyne’s place because all her flatmates are out of the country and I decided to keep her company. Still, it was a fun week and at least I still lost. I just need to work harder next week.
Still I needed to take a cheat day because it supposedly lulls your body into a false sense of security that you are not depriving it of food, so yesterday’s cheat day officially began with breakfast at a hawker stall near Tyne’s place. She ordered so much food but we could finish only half of it.

Then I headed to Tampines to watch Love & Other Drugs with Joc, Jemma and Mildred. On the way there I was thinking that I needed to buy chocolates because I hadn’t had one the entire week, being the good girl that I was. But when I bought the tickets and flashed my GV membership card, I was given a couple of Lindt swiss chocolates. Wow! Thanks, universe! Thanks, GV! I also bought a tumbler of Coke and snagged a few fries from Mildred. I loved the movie, by the way. It was funny yet touching and, as usual, made me cry. Beware of the explicit scenes though. Or maybe “beware” is the wrong word to use.
Snacks: free Swiss chocolates |
After the movie we had a very late lunch at Tapa King in Century Square. I tried out the Tapa Joe. For some reason the tapa and the tomato salsa was not as delicious as the last time I had it. Jemma’s lechon kawali was really good, though. I’ll have that next time.

Then we headed to Starbucks so that Joc could collect the coffee she won from betting against me – a realized gain. Haha, I relate everything to work terms! I was happy I could have a cuppa my favorite mocha, with whipped cream, of course.

For dinner I headed to Little Bali, a cab ride away from Vivo City, where we were throwing a despedida party for Yves slash birthday party for Arlyn. Arlyn and I ordered the Bali platter (or something like that) and didn’t really like the spicy food that tasted like Indian food. I hate Indian food. So we ate only like a quarter of it. I loved the drink/dessert that we had, though, and I finished it all. It’s like the Philippine halo-halo, only with different ingredients and less crushed ice. I don’t know the name, we just pointed at others’ orders.

Dessert: Bali’s version of halo-halo |
Yves and Sash asked them to serve a birthday cake for Arlyn. We sang the happy birthday song as she blew out the candle. Amusing moment – when we tried the cake, Arlyn asked us if it was good. Sash’s reply: “It tastes like cake that you can buy from a neighborhood bakery back home.” LOL. He’s right, though.
Happy birthday Arlyn! |
While the food was so-so, the place was really nice though.
After dinner we switched locations to the bar just a few steps away and I had one of my dreams come true when I got to sit down on the bar itself. Haha, weird dream huh? It just happens a lot on movies that I’ve always sort of wanted to try and see what the fuss was all about. Anyhoo, I had a Singapore sling.

Yves by the bar. She’s leaving for Japan soon. |
We were eventually forced to leave the bar and join the others on the table where we had a game that involved asking and answering tell-all questions. It was kinda fun, even though I wasn’t able to answer anything, prompting Yves to crown me as the “most holy one” in the group. Haha.
Overall, it was a really really wonderful day, not just for the food but the activities and conversations as well. Can’t wait for the next. 🙂
