We decided to spend our two quarters’ budget for team outing on a trip to Universal Studios Singapore followed by dinner at No Signboard. We went yesterday and it was totally fun!
Jemma, Rey and I decided to go in costume. I actually already have the same shirt in black but I bought one in white as well because I knew it would be really hot in USS and everybody knows that black absorbs heat and white repels it. What, didn’t you listen to your Science teacher in elementary school?

They took so long, however, that we had time to visit Egypt. Not the real Egypt, of course, they weren’t gone that long, silly.

With a very buff, very stern looking guy. He never cracked a smile no matter what! |
It was in Egypt that I finally got persuaded to chuck my fear of heights and try a roller coaster. I surprisingly survived, but only because I kept my eyes shut almost the entire time. Err… sorry, but I can only go so far! I was fine right afterwards, but a few moments later, I suddenly felt dizzy. And I remembered that it’s not just my fear of heights that puts me off rollercoasters, but my motion sickness as well.

We left Egypt and headed for Far Far Away.
Is there an I ♥ FFA shirt around here? |
We dropped by Goldilocks for lunch. The three of us split a “family bear” order good for three people but couldn’t finish all eight pieces of chicken even though it was delicious. I loved the mashed potato and coleslaw too.

Then we watched the Shrek 4D show to get out of the unbearable heat. That show is always good for a laugh and a few screams.

We left the present and headed to Jurassic Park. The queues to the more popular rides were long, so we got on the childish dino-soar ride. We also watched the Waterworld show right next to it and though I hated it the first time I saw it, this time around I really loved it, and the monster rock show which I had loved so much the first time now seemed less entertaining. Maybe because I was closer to the stage the first time and could see the performers’ facial expressions? I dunno.
We also went to Madagascar and rode the river ride. It was a childish ride, too, but there was a funny moment when we all thought we would get wet and started screaming; Joseph even hid inside his shirt so that he looked headless in the photo that was taken.
Turns out the falls that we thought we would have to go through parted just before we passed it so that we emerged completely dry on the other side.
After that we watched the Madagascar mascots dance, then we decided to hop on the carousel, which was non-challenging but actually kind of fun.

I had to leave ahead of the others because I had another show to catch with a different set of people. It was a very fun team outing, though. It saddens me that I will be leaving this team in the next couple of weeks or so. Well at least we would still be on the same floor.
