Jemma and I threw a joint celebration for our birthdays and cooked up some Pinoy goodies for the dwarfs at their place. Jemma cooked her pancit with quail eggs, Maya fried some spring rolls and cheese sticks, Dred whipped up some maja blanca, while I threw together a buko salad and grilled some pork liempo marinated in my barbeque sauce recipe.
I was amused at everyone’s reaction to my stove top griller – they all stared at it in amazement and gushed about it. I told them I bought it in SM Makati back in 2007.
Joc and Rey assisted in making the cheese sticks following Maya’s instructions, and Jemma made our jaws drop when she hacked a coconut open with a knife.
Rey brought one cake and Ivy brought another, so Jemma and I had one each. Ivy also brought seven muffins for the seven dwarfs, our group’s namesake. So sweet of them! ^__^
Everything was delicious, and everyone said so, including our sole non-Filipino guest, Jyn. I wished my tummy could hold more.
We also all enjoyed the conversations although we threatened to wash a certain someone’s mouth out with soap. LOL.
I love these gatherings with the dwarfs. Already looking forward to the next. It’s Rey’s turn next month! 🙂
