SuperNan, the Superhero Whose Weapon is a Hula Hoop

Yesterday, after watching Dark Shadows and having lunch at Popeye’s, we went back to Dred’s place nearby so Nantoy could get his backpack which he had left there earlier, and it was in their living room when we came up with the story of Nantoy as SuperNan, the superhero whose weapon is a hula hoop.

Of course I only thought of the hula hoop as a weapon because of this:

But while I came up with the name and weapon, Nantoy came up with the rest of the story, something that involves aliens (I named them Carapacians) in Marina Bay.

At one point, the aliens actually bring the merlion to life to fight him.

He tries talking to the merlion to bring sense into him, saying, “You are the icon of Singapore, do you want to taint your image with bloodbath?”

The Merlion replies in Mandarin, which he does not understand.

After the merlion incident, he defeats the aliens with the help of certain bystanders and by using the Singapore flyer as a giant hula hoop.

Yeah, I know. I did not see that coming.

We also came up with his costume, archenemy, and back story.

SuperNan got his superpowers from a chemically-tainted hula hoop which he got as a birthday present, when upon using it for the first time, a live wire somehow also came into contact with him and the hula hoop.

He got rushed into the hospital, and in the middle of the night, while he groaned through his pain and nightmares, he screamed for the hula hoop and it came flying through the skies and into his hands.

Yeah, I know. We have a gargantuan imagination between us all.
