Today I rediscovered an old habit I had forgotten about – I played music on my phone. I used to do it everyday, and I don’t know why I stopped, really, but this morning when I took my shower it just sort of happened, and as I started singing “I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more…” I realized how happy this made me. So I kept on playing my music and singing along as I put on my clothes and makeup and jewelry and twisted my hair into a messy updo. Then I managed to find my long abandoned earphones inside one of my long abandoned bags and I plugged that into my phone and into my ears and I kept on humming along as I walked to my bus stop. As I sat waiting for the bus, I marveled, isn’t it amazing how such a simple thing can make someone’s day? And just then, the song that proves this point came on:
“So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I’m singing
Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing
Who can live without it,
I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me”
How appropriate is that song, right? I don’t know who first invented music but to whoever you were, A HUGE THANK YOU! 🙂 And just like that, today is off to a great start.
