My favorite variety show when I was still in the Philippines was ASAP, so when they staged a show in Max Atria Pavillion last October 14, I decided to go watch with Dred and Jemma.
We were only able to avail of the cheapest tickets, though, so we were quite far from the stage and could barely see the faces of the performers.
Since we couldn’t go that near anyway, we decided to choose comfortable seats and chose the first row of an elevated bleacher so that we had plenty of leg room and so we could watch the stage without having to stand up or crane our necks.
This later proved futile when it turned out that we were sitting behind some very enthusiastic folks all bedecked in the same color shirts – orange – and who stood up and shook red pompoms every once in a while.
Nevertheless, the performances were fun and moving to watch. A tear silently stole down my cheek during the sesyonitas segment because they chose “missing someone in the Philippines” as a theme.
The program started at around 12 and ended at around 2pm. There was supposedly a pictorial call afterwards, but we didn’t want to queue for pics, so we just found some lifesize cardboard posters and posed with those instead. LOL.
