When Gelle went on a work-related trip to Bangkok last month, I asked her to buy some Nars products for me since the brand is not available in Singapore (but it supposedly will be starting this month). I had been itching to have my own multiple stick ever since Gelle used it on me when she played makeup artist, so I asked her to buy that for me as well as a velvet lip pencil which is her current fave. She made me try it in the Dragon Girl shade but I thought it was too bright red, so I surfed the web to look at its different shades and decided on the Dolce Vita. I also read that those jumbo lip pencils needed a sharpener, so I asked her to buy one for me as well. A good thing she did, because I could also use said sharpener on my Sephora vinyl lip pencil which is the same jumbo size.

I love the packaging! I also love the products themselves. Portofino looks great on my cheeks and blends like a dream, and because it’s cream based, it looks dewy and not cakey like powder blushes. The lip pencil, meanwhile, is not like normal lip pencils in that it is soft and quite easy to apply and it feels very light on the lips, with a matte finish. However my gripe with both is that their colors are not very long lasting, and retouching is not my thing. They work well together for a casual look, as you can see below.

Meanwhile, Dragon Lady, which I mentioned was the first color I tried, is so the opposite of casual.

I want to try the Nars foundation and lipstick next time. I don’t have any foundation at the moment, only use BB cream, and maybe it’s about time I did.
