Tonight a friend of mine posted this rant on Facebook:
Singtel, do you still have plans of fixing your connection??? You’re so unfair, im expecting a refund!
He had tagged his friend who works for Singtel, so that friend replied with: “hehehe..singtel is continuously upgrading the connections in preparation for the 4g era..just chillax hehehe”
The status poster then replied with: “Really? If they continuously upgrading the connections, we are continuously suffering from very slow connection and sometimes no connection at all. This is actually killing us. Pls relay my feedback to the mgt.”
Singtel employee then replied again with: “well, just wait and see 🙂 once everything is already up and running then all will enjoy the connection speed…and by the way.. i didnt experience slowness in my phone.”
Well I really couldn’t just sit there and take that, could I? So I had to post my own comment: “I have the same issue and so do all my officemates who are on Singtel. Boo!”He probably had to say that to defend this company and all, but I just really can’t stand it when people say things that are oh so freaking wrong because honestly, SINGTEL SUCKS.
There used to be a time when I gleefully lorded my Singtel 3G internet connection over my friends. Not anymore. Now it seems I spend most of my time cursing my extremely slow and sometimes nonexistent 3g internet connection while my friends on M1 or Starhub check in their locations on Facebook or happily discuss something happening over the social media. And it’s ridiculous because we pay roughly the same amount monthly. So it’s really incredibly horrifically unfair.
My friend has a theory about this. He says this God-forsaken slowness only started to happen when the 3rd generation ipad was first launched some months ago. Could 4G be taking up the bandwidth or whatever? We’re finance people, not IT geeks, so pardon if we’re getting it all wrong.
But whatever it is that Singtel is doing, I wish they’d hurry up and fix it already otherwise I’m leaving them once my contract is over, faster than you can say M1.
