I had always been curious about Singapore’s latest tourist attraction, so when Caloy said he was coming over here for a business trip, I suggested going there. He had already been to Singapore before (go to this link to read all about it) and had already seen some of the other tourist attractions anyway, so this was perfect. I invited Gelle to join us.
Gardens by the Bay is located near the Bayfront MRT station, so we took the yellow line to get there.
When we got off at Bayfront station, we walked outside and had to pass the famous Marina Bay Sands (MBS) before getting to Gardens by the Bay.
Eventually we reached the giant supertrees.
Then Caloy had the idea of posing with the supertrees this way:

I know, he’s a hoot, isn’t he? You’ll see more of his “concept pics” later.
Speaking of royalty, did you know that Prince William and Kate visited Gardens by the Bay when they came to Singapore? They also saw these supertrees. The day we saw the supertrees, though, we also joked that we were royalty. While Gelle was the Duchess, I was the “Queen Mother” because my hair was up in a bun. Haha.
The only reason why I bunned up my hair, though, was because I was afraid of the heat. Singapore had been ridiculously humid lately and I have ridiculously thick hair that I’m tempted to cut off ala Fantine sometimes. >.<
Anyway we finally reached the entrance to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. The entrance fee is S$14 per attraction but if you’re a Singapore resident, it’s only S$10. I was thinking that maybe we could go into only one, like maybe just the Flower Dome, but we decided since we were already there anyway, might as well do both, right? So that’s we did, and I was glad for this later because the Cloud Forest turned out to be a lot better than the Flower Dome.
At the entrance of the flower dome we saw this:
Gelle said: “Oh no guys, this is it, these are the flowers.” Haha. Yes, Gelle is a hoot too.
When we walked inside our nostrils were greeted by the scent of natural fertilizer. Yes that’s right – manure. It smelled awful but it got a bit better later on or maybe we just got used to it.
However I was glad the place was air-conditioned, so putting my hair up was actually unnecessary. The place looked like a giant greenhouse and it was really quite lovely, though there were fewer flowers than I expected, so I was slightly disappointed.

But that was only the start. The place was gigantic, as tall as a real mountain, I think! There were 6 floors in all, anyway. But you don’t have to climb all the way up, you can take a lift to the top floor and walk down. The levels are mentioned in below sign:
It was kinda scary to look down from the top at times and it was tiring to do all that walking, but the view was so beautiful that it was worth it.

And here’s one of the Singapore Flyer, the largest observation wheel in the world.

It reminded me of my favorite show Sherlock which always shows a backdrop of London with the London Eye (second largest observation wheel in the world, FYI). And so I got inspired to do a serious Sherlock pose haha!
