Nex Mall Huat Huat Chicken and Share Tea

My phone’s screen protector got scratched so I had to replace it. So I decided to go to Nex Mall, which is near my place, and since I was going there anyway, I asked Arlyn if she wanted to go too, since it was kinda near her as well. She said yes.

Nex Mall is the biggest neighborhood mall in Singapore (at least it was, anyway, unless there’s a new one that I don’t know about), so I like going there if I need to buy some stuff or watch a movie but am too lazy to go to the city. I also like that they have some stalls that sell cheap stuff like this place where Arlyn gets S$10 dresses and these phone paraphernalia shops where I got a new screen protector for only S$6. Both shops can be found on the fourth floor, near the cinema.

We ended up watching the movie Flight, but before that, we had dinner. I just had to have my favorite Share Tea winter melon iced milk tea with small pearls – it’s my most favorite bubble tea ever! Arlyn got the same thing. The salesman told us that 0% sugar was already sweet so we changed our original 50% sugar orders to 30%. Thanks for the tip, kind sir!

We then checked out the 4th floor food court and to my delight, I saw that they had a Huat Huat Bbq Chicken Wing stall there. Huat Huat has a stall in Somerset 101, and back when my friends Ngangi and Chi were still in Singapore, we often went there just to eat their spring chicken, which tastes like Philippine lechon manok (roast chicken). So I ordered the same thing tonight and once again, Arlyn followed me. She says she’s been a copycat all week.

So I had a happy tummy again tonight, but tomorrow I really need to go back to dieting.

Oh by the way, I didn’t like the movie Flight all that much because I thought it would be an action thriller about a plane crash but it wasn’t! I mean yes there was a dramatic nail-biting plane crash scene in the beginning but that was it! Then the rest of the film was some very serious drama about alcohol and drug addiction. I can deal with drama, yes, it’s just that I wasn’t expecting it and I wasn’t in the mood for it. :-/
