In our household, it’s tradition to “surprise” the birthday celebrant with a cake, drinks, and light snacks on the eve of her birthday. But because it’s tradition, it really isn’t that much of a surprise anymore, is it? Haha. Still, we try to pretend that it is by keeping it from the celebrant and trying to hide the preparations from her. However, while we were readying the spread on the eve of March 7, Cate walked in on us doing so, just like she did three years ago. Well at least we tried, right? ;P

After she blew out her candle, we gave her our presents for her to open. She was really happy with the Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette she got from Ann and the red Forever 21 dress she got from me.

Then when it was time to open her sister Tatsie’s gift, she wondered why the box was filled with toiletries and supplies.
“What kind of a birthday gift is this?” |
It turns out that buried underneath all the “junk” was a Poh Heng gift bag. Poh Heng is a jewellery, so she got really ecstatic like this:
Yay! Jewelry! You had me fooled! |
The gift was a lovely little bracelet with stars. Cate has a thing for stars, in fact we gave her star-themed presents for her birthday four years ago. So she really loved this present too.
