It seems as though my team mates have a penchant for bringing popcorn as pasalubong (treats) from the Philippines. Last time Jenny brought Kettle Korn, this time, Camille brought Chef Tony’s.
Now this isn’t my first time to try the stuff as it used to be a favorite of mine back during my good old Makati days. So eating it again today reminded me why I used to loved it – such buttery goodness!
They have them here in Singapore as well – I saw a booth in one of the Tampines malls, but I think it was more expensive at S$8+ a bucket. But then again I’m comparing to the Philippine price 5 years ago – they were only 100+ pesos back then. Maybe these days it’s the same as the Singapore price. Please feel free to enlighten me because I’m too lazy to google! 😀
*UPDATE!!*
I found a kiosk selling Chef Tony popcorn in Orchard Central and found out that their big tubs sell for S$13. According to Maya, the same size is currently selling at only 190 pesos or around S$6. So it’s half the price in the Philippines! I tried out their testers and fell for the Cheesy Jalapeño. The spicy kick added to the cheesy tastes really makes it stand out.
