We took the day off for my flatmate Cate’s birthday (it was last March 7, a Thursday). First up on the day’s itinerary: buffet lunch at Starz Restaurant in Hard Rock Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa.
We loved the cozy ambiance and the charming decor. The lights are so lovely!

There were lots of other dishes:

| Rice, noodles and soup. We loved the cream of mushroom soup! |

| Indian cuisine. I hate Indian food but Tatsie loved the briyani. |

| Japanese raw food. No sushi and sashimi, so I didn’t touch any of this. |

| Salads, fruit, and cheese platter. We hated the mango salad, too many spices. |

But what got the birthday girl super excited was this:

We both ordered chocolate. It wasn’t that good for me, though, I’ve had better gelato.
We also got excited over their desserts selection:
So we took a bit of everything and shared them, dipping our forks into all the desserts and discussing our opinions about each one.
All the desserts were quite yummy but for me and Cate, the winner was this:
The weird thing was that it was the only dessert not to have a name tag, so I have no idea what this is! It tasted like a ferrero chocolate mousse with a crunchy pie crust on the bottom. The first runner up is the oreo cheesecake.
When we were done, a waiter came over and asked if we wanted tea or coffee. The service was generally good, by the way. Our water glasses were regularly refilled and our dirty dishes promptly cleared away. We were just a bit put off that they left our used utensils right on the place mats, though. I mean, shouldn’t they at least put them on our saucers?
Overall, we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the place, the fact that there were few people around and we didn’t feel rushed. We loved the food and the price is not too bad at S$38++ per head. Cate and Tatsie liked it so much that they plan to bring their family here the next time they come visit.
