This morning I woke up to the news that a new pope has been elected. Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, is now known as Pope Francis and is the first ever pope from the Americas, an austere Jesuit intellectual who modernized Argentina‘s conservative Catholic church.
You can read about everything you need to know about him in this very detailed Time article.
What stood out for me in that news, though, is that he is a Jesuit. Why? Because Jesuits are my favorite priests! Of course I’m biased because I went to a Jesuit school (Ateneo de Zamboanga University) for 16 years. That’s more than half my life! (I just realized I can only say that until before my next birthday! Waahhh.) Talk about loyalty.

I can’t find my college graduation photo. Hmph. But it was still with Fr. Kreutz with even lesser hair. 😀
So here is a college grad pic of me posing with my family instead.
