Last Saturday found me having brunch with my friends Betchie, Arlyn and Maribeth. It was Betchie’s suggestion to try out Kith Cafe at their new branch in Sentosa Cove’s Quayside Isle. They don’t accept reservations so we decided to just head on over there and hope it wasn’t crowded.
We met up in Vivo City and took a cab from there to this residential part of Sentosa and we were completely wowed by all the houses mansions we saw on the way. It was so unlike the rest of Singapore and looked like Miami or something! Rumor has it that these properties sell for at least 20 million sgd. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any pictures because it rained really hard so we were not able to go back, so here’s one I found on the web:

Seriously if you’re not impressed with that, then you have no business being on my corner of the web because I bet you are very hard to please and should therefore not believe any of my reviews.
So anyway, we managed to find Quayside Isle thanks to Betchie’s map app. After alighting, we walked a bit and enjoyed the view while searching for Kith Cafe.

Shortly afterwards, our mains arrived. I was surprised when I saw that mine was actually Eggs Benedict! I should have known from the description on the menu, I know, but the name Blackstone Eggs threw me off! Haha! So in other words, I really do love Eggs Ben for what it is, and not just its name. The Shakespeare verse “What’s in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” suddenly makes a lot more sense now, eh?
BLACKSTONE EGGS (S$17++) English muffins, poached eggs, roasted Roma tomatoes, crispy bacon, grilled asparagus, Hollandaise sauce, crushed black pepper |
BIG BREAKFAST (S$17++) Choice of toast, choice of eggs, smoked bratwurst, Bacon, roasted Roma tomato, spicy tomato beans |
And then before we could dig in, it suddenly rained. Super hard. As in buckets. There was a roof over our heads which should have been fine, but it was also very windy and the wind blew the rain in towards us because it was an open area. There is a disadvantage to an oceanfront location after all. So we decided to look for another table inside the restaurant and flagged a waiter to ask for his help. OMG it was a very ditzy waiter that we found. Maybe it was his first day on the job or something, but he really didn’t know what to do and just stood there and didn’t know how to answer our questions and led us to a table that was already full.
We finally found one ourselves, no thanks to him. I didn’t like this new table so much because it was very small and all our plates and cups fit just so, and it was difficult to eat because I had to saw through my food very carefully so that I didn’t move any of the other plates and cause them to fall off. And the table was so tall that we had to sit up on bar stools and I hate bar stools because there is no way to get your feet comfortable while up in them. I hate my midget legs.
Nevertheless, I did love the food itself. They were all delicious and well cooked, though Betchie said the eggs on her Eggs Ben – sorry I mean Blackstone Eggs – were not cooked perfectly. I don’t know how a perfectly cooked poached egg is supposed to be like, so I was perfectly happy with mine. Teehee. However I think the big breakfast is a better order when it comes to value of money, though, because it has more variety.
I definitely want to come back to Sentosa Cove, but even though we liked Kith Cafe, we’ll probably try another restaurant next time, for variety. And I hope it doesn’t rain next time, because I want to take pictures of those houses to show you.

Oh you've been here? That's cool! It was a bit cold for us who are not used to the cold. Haha.

Ooh that's great! You should definitely visit Sentosa island and might i suggest you watch the show Songs of the Sea. It's the best show in Sg and I've seen it more than 10x already because I always accompany tourists to watch it. :)<br />Then of course there's the Universal Studios. You can look around my blog at the singapore tags for more ideas.

Thanks for the tip. You accompany tourists eh? Maybe you should chaperon me too. Universal is already on the to do list because of the little miss. Songs of the Sea sounds great. Gonna stalk your blog for more.
