Back in the Philippines, forwarded text messages were (or still are?) a thing. They’re like forwarded emails but shorter, so they’re usually jokes or “quotes,” like this one:
I was finally getting over you
I had crushes other than you
I walked around with my head high, thinking I wouldn’t fall
But then you smiled and ruined it all
Now I am a sucker for quotes. So I was one of the people who was always forwarding these cutesy text messages to everyone in my phonebook, especially when my sim card could suddenly send unlimited texts even though it had zero prepaid balance. And when I received text messages that I particularly liked, I wrote them down in a notebook for safekeeping. It eventually became three notebooks. I have no idea where they are now. Probably eaten by the same termites that ate my diaries and my keepsakes.
I still love quotes, though, but I no longer write them down in notebooks. Instead I embed them in some of my blogs and tag said blogs with “quotes” – which you can also see on the right sidebar.
Here are some:

I love quotes as well, here are two I love right now. – Take risk: If you win you will be happy, if you lose you will be wise. – and -Our greatest glory is not never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.- Emerson.
Those are very nice quotes. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

Hi, Dee,<br />When I was in high school, I used to keep quotes in a notebook as well. I've stopped, but still enjoy reading them. Some really give me lots of food for thought. <br /><br />J.L. Campbell writes <a href="http://jamaicankidlit.weebly.com" rel="nofollow"> Jamaican Kid Lit</a><br />

There’s nothing wrong with being the queen of quotable quotes! I just wish that some people would delete the "FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD:" lol <br /><br />I love your quote by Anais Nin. Two of my personal favorites are: <br /><br /><i>“When you point one finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you.” <br /><br />“Once you've taken a few punches and realize you&
Hahaha yes I share your frustation with the FWD: FWD: FWD: as well! I always make sure to delete those when it's my turn to forward emails.<br /><br />Those are very nice quotes. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

Checking in from the A to Z Challenge (waves hello!)<br /><br />I like a lot of these quotes…especially the one about someone coming into your life and making you realize why it never worked out with anyone else. It's what my wife and I say to each other all the time :)<br /><br /><br />Great blog and happy A to Z'ing!<br /><br /><a href="http://leftandwriteblog.blogspot.com/" rel="

hey Dee – another interesting post. Hmm guess it's a Phillipines thing 🙂
Yes, it so is! I realized it when I moved to Singapore.
I do have a file of quotes somewhere. I used to write them down on scraps of paper and, then, lose them.
Oh, too bad.
Love all your quotes and pics! 🙂
I love quotes too, thanks for sharing. There is one I came across the other day that I fell in love with, although it was really more a question of the day from a website… "but what if it really is possible?" Simple but powerful.<br /><br />Have fun with a-z.
A few of my favorites….<br /><br />"Failure isn't about falling down,<br />failure is staying down"<br />-Marillion<br /><br />"A mind is like a parachute,<br />it does not work if it is not open"<br />-Frank Zappa<br /><br />"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me<br />than a frontal lobotomy"<br />-Tom Waits
