After walking down Champs-Elysees, we walked another way to find the spot where we would ride the boat for our Seine River Cruise.
I love this shot because it captures both the Eiffel Tower and a tour bus while I’m walking along with a Longchamp shopping bag in hand. In case you’re wondering what’s in the bag, it’s this:
I’ve always wanted the Eiffel bag and it looks so great in red colour. Best Europe trip souvenir ever! 😍
We had paid 12 euros to our Topdeck tour guide to get tickets for the Seine River Cruise in advance, so we just presented our tickets and hopped on board.
There were a lot of beautiful sights and I highly recommend it, especially if you hate walking tours (which I do).
I loved all the beautiful scenes but I have to say that the moment that most took my breath away was when this showed up:
I think this is my most favourite shot of the Eiffel Tower on this trip.
We took a selfie with the Eiffel Tower but of course that wouldn’t have sufficed.
So after the cruise was done, we walked to Champ-de-Mars, where the Eiffel Tower was and where we were supposed to meet our Topdeck crew for picnic dinner.
Then we took a lot of pictures with the Eiffel Tower.
For the shot above, Kes used the timer function on her iPhone. Drew and I were so nervous for the shot where we had to turn our back on the phone because we know the area is notorious for pickpockets and we might look back and see the phone gone. Luckily it was still there when we looked back, milliseconds after the shot went off. 😜
We started looking for our tour bus mates at the time we were supposed to meet but they were nowhere in front of the tower. Turns out they were somewhere far on the side. They had already set up the tables, chairs, and picnic food. I loved the food, they were all so delicious!
After that we walked a really long way to where our bus was parked, and those of us who had bought the optional tickets to the Paradis Latin Cabaret got dressed and rode the bus there.
It wasn’t at all what I expected on the inside. Instead of the typical theatre seats, there were tables, like in a restaurant, and you could order drinks and food. Our ticket came with wine, so we sipped white wine while watching the show.
You’re not allowed to take photos during the show just like in most live performances, and they’re stricter here because of the topless dancers.
It was a wonderful performance. It was a modernised version of the cabaret, so it wasn’t just cancan dancers flashing their chests, but there was a mix of acrobatic acts thrown in as well. There were a couple of amazing guys who made me hold my breath as they did some scary death defying acts on a trapeze and did balancing acts on a monocycle. My favourite portion involved ladies dancing sexily on motorcycles. We also had a favourite dancer. Her facial expressions were so hot!
We went back to our hotel, slept, and woke up really early the next day to throw our stuff on the bus and take a 12 hour bus ride to our next stop: Switzerland.
