My New Year’s eve was spent the same way as my Christmas eve, with my friends at their home.
They cooked delicious shrimps, carbonara pasta, and hamonado, while I bought some leche flan which I happened to find in a Filipino grocery stall at Pasir Ris interchange.
I love how everyone was game enough to go along with my crazy photo ideas.
We also watched some funny Jimmy Fallon videos which inspired us to play our own “catchphrases” game, but instead of the Jimmy Fallon way, we used Pictionary, which is our new favourite game.
The funny thing was, I ended up not just drawing but also giving a lesson on idioms. ๐ That moment gave us all a teachable moment – for them, a lot of idioms and what they mean, and for me, the realisation that I know too many Western idioms for the average Filipino. ๐
The above are some of the hilarious drawings I made. Could you guess what I was trying to draw? I don’t blame you if you don’t! My drawing skills definitely leave a lot to be desired! (Hey, this is an idiom too!)

It was a very fun way to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and less tiring than going out of our way to see fireworks somewhere. #signsofaging
