There are pros and cons to moving.
One con is missing all your former neighbourhood haunts, like malls or salons or restaurants.
I used to frequent the same foodcourt on lazy weekends, and whenever I went, I always followed the same path – order saba fish set from the Korean stall, get chili lime condiments from the malay stall, then buy iced lime tea from the drinks stall where one of the sales boys would sometimes hit on me using words from my native language which he had learned. 😅
I found myself missing my former foodcourt faves (just the food, not the guy, mind you) until I realized one of the pros of moving – discovering new neighbourhood haunts.
I was hungrily searching for something to eat in Parkway Parade’s foodcourt one night when I chanced upon this stall:
My interest piqued, I checked out their menu.
A meal below 10 bucks is a win for me, so I gave it a try.
It was not very salty, which I feared from its name. It was tasty, and the meat was so soft and tender that it fell clean off the bone with gentle proddings of my utensils.
It was so good that I had it twice in one week.
Afterwards, I’d cap it with dessert – small froyo with white chocolate sauce from Llao Llao.
I love discovering new dishes so I’ll lay off this stall for a while and give others a try next time.
