Yesterday, I met up with Arlyn and Armar at Suntec and we had a mid-lunch-and-dinner (lunner?) meal at Pasarbella, a fancy food court. You can’t miss it, it’s right beside the Lamborghini place.
I love Pasarbella. There are always so many snapworthy corners in there.
This time around I insisted that I wanted to try the buckets of seafood that I saw on other people’s tables the last couple of times I was there. So we walked around at all the food stalls and found what I was looking for at the Cajun on Wheels food truck, whose giant smiling crab makes it obvious that it sells seafood. Good marketing, guys!
Unfortunately those seafood buckets are expensive, costing over a hundred per bucket, which should be expected, really, for crabs and such. But they did have “Flexing Mussels” on the menu for $18, so we ordered that, and chose the salted egg yolk sauce among the many listed sauces to accompany it.
We chose well! The sauce was very good! It was also a huge serving and fed us very well. Aside from mussels and clams, there were slices of corn on the cob, baby potatoes, and spam fries at the bottom of the bucket as well.
We also ordered a shawarma set from a stall called Pita & Olives and some (rather sour) berry lemonades from the Drinks! stall.
After polishing off our meal, we walked around the mall to look for a cafe where we can have some dessert. Before we found it, Armar and I ended up buying spider tripods for our phones.
We ended up at Pacific Coffee because it had a great view of the Fountain of Wealth, where we wanted to make a wish. You can only wish on the fountain at specific times when they turn off the water that comes out of the large fountain, and we didn’t know what time that would be, so our location provided us the perfect vantage point to make a run for it, whenever that time was.
I was able to put my newly bought phone tripod to use.
I had a banana mocha frappe and some of Armar’s carrot cheesecake, and sometime after finishing our food and discussing a story that involves 120,000, the fountain waters were turned off, so we walked over to the entrance and decided that we needed to wish to find a briefcase full of 120,000 in cash. 😆
Wishing on the fountain involves walking around the circle of fountains at the center three times while dipping your hand into the water and saying your wish in your head the entire time. You can see a video of that below.
When we were done, we walked around the mall some more and jokingly opened bags we found in shops, just in case they happened to have 120,000 in cash in them. We didn’t find any. Drats.
What I did find, though, was a pair of Onitsuka Tiger sneakers at 30% off at 120-something dollars. 😆
Later on, Arlyn wanted to try some collagen drinks, so we ended up buying a brand called DHC which happened to be on sale.
Armar said we should try it first, just to make sure that we didn’t have bad reactions to it, like turn us into frogs. We spent the next minutes of walking to the bus stop just laughing at the thought of Armar waking up one morning to find Arlyn missing and a frog in her place instead.
“Guys, if I don’t reply tomorrow, please ask my flatmates to check if there are any frogs in my room, okay?” I asked.
I know, we have such wild imaginations.

Well, this is interesting. I’ve never heard of the bucket mussels.
But I’ve been to that fountain in Suntec. It’s gorgeous!

It was my first time to see them too.
