Me: Hey, it’s singles night on Friday. Wanna go out?
Arlyn: Out as in party?
Me: Not necessarily. We can do anything.
Arlyn: Sure. Then you can sleep over afterwards.
Me: Great idea! So first, let’s meet up at your place so I can leave my things, then if we feel like it, we can go out.
Arlyn: Yeah, and if not, we can just do a movie marathon coz I usually feel tired on Fridays.
Me: You know what, a movie marathon sounds like a better idea. Let’s do that instead.

So that’s how my first sleepover began, but with us moving it the next day.
Arlyn and I ended up bingeing The Crown, a brilliant new series on Netflix which apparently has a budget of $5million per episode.
It was fun to watch scenes in the Buckingham Palace because I had been in there myself last September. I managed to be in London within the 2 months window when the inside of the Buckingham Palace is available to the public. Unfortunately, taking pictures inside wasn’t allowed, so all I have is this outdoor shot.
While I love Elizabeth and Phillip, my favourite character is King George, and one scene involving him had me in tears.
We also watched The Big Short which is a really funny film that explains what caused the financial crisis of 2008. I had already seen it before and loved it, so I recommended it to Arlyn because we’re both from the same industry and knew she would appreciate it as well.
Another thing that had us in stitches was this snapchat video that we recorded for Armar.
I don’t know why we couldn’t resist laughing whenever we watched it.
We stayed in until the next day, ordering dinner and lunch from Ubereats so we didn’t have to leave the house. We got $10 off each order for using this promo code: eats-heideea1
There was no more satisfying way to spend Singles Day.
My other sleepover happened last Monday, when I met up with Gelle who was on business trip here from Australia.
She brought me some Haigh’s chocolate speckles and a present from our other friend Cate from Oz – Coles cookie dough spread. They’re both sinfully delicious! 😋
I wasn’t supposed to sleep over, but those deliciously soft Egyptian cotton sheets did me in.
