BBC Sherlock is finally back with season 4 after 3 years. OMG how has it been three years already? 😱
Anyway… this reminded me of that time when I did my DIY Sherlock tour when I was in London last September.
Sherlock Holmes Museum
221B Baker Street
Located between 237 & 241 Baker Street
Marylebone exit
The real Sherlock Holmes museum is located at the world’s most famous address –221B Baker Street, the home of detective Sherlock Holmes
The place has a dedicated person in policeman costume as well as a deerstalker (Sherlock’s famous hat) that you can wear for a picture opportunity, for free.
I did not go into the museum itself because there’s an entrance fee of £15.
You can get there by hopping off either the Baker Street or Marylebone tube stations.
Speedy’s Café (aka BBC Sherlock’s 221B Baker Street)
187 North Gower Street
Tube Station: Euston Square
If you’re a fan of BBC’s show Sherlock, you’ll be familiar with this place:
Yes, that’s right, it’s the show’s 221B Baker Street, home of Sherlock and his best bro John Watson!
In real life, though, this place is not really at Baker Street, but at North Gower Street, because they needed to shoot at a spot that wasn’t heavy with traffic.
This is actually a real cafe, so I ducked inside to grab a late lunch.
The cafe was quite small, so I felt lucky that there was an empty table for me.
There were pictures of the Sherlock cast and crew on the wall.
I ended up ordering a jacket potato with chilli, which was really delicious! It was my first time to try jacket potatoes, and I was really glad it did not disappoint (because as you know, London is not exactly popular for their food).
And just like that, I’m missing London again!
