My Birthday 2017

So I turned another year older on the 7th. I had a few surprises from different friends, so it was a happy one.

It started with a surprise birthday cupcake at home from my flatmates Dred and Jemma.

The three of us then went for a walking session in East Coast Park. It was great to be able to catch a beautiful sunrise on my birthday.

We then headed to Starbucks for breakfast. I got a free pumpkin spice latte and a slice of cake for my birthday month for being a gold card member. Thanks, Starbucks! For the free stuff and for bringing PSL to Singapore, finally!

What was the best thing about the morning was the spring-like blossoms in the trees. What a pretty sight, isn’t it?

I normally take the day off work on my birthday, but this time around I didn’t, because I am taking a bunch of leaves later on in the month for my vacation to Australia and New Zealand.

I got a surprise Cat & the Fiddle milo dinosaur cheesecake delivered to me at work by my friend Cate in who is based in Sydney. Isn’t she sweet? I have always wanted to try this cake, so I was so happy to finally get a chance. It was really yummy!

Later in the afternoon, my team surprised me with a chocolate cake. They were very bad at pretending that they had forgotten my birthday and ignoring me the whole day, by the way. 😅

The next day, I had a birthday dinner celebration at home with my flatmates and some friends. My friend Chi who lives in Manila was in town with her family, so they were invited, too. I got another cake from them that night, and we enjoyed that along with the Filpino catered food I ordered. My fave dish was the bistek tagalog.

We also had fun playing with little boy Bryce.

Update: My friend Tyne in Toronto gave me a belated surprise through our friend Dred – cupcakes! Dred handed them to me on the 12th, in the airport, just before I flew to Sydney.

This was also the last time I saw Dred before she moved to Toronto. I really am gonna miss this lady, but I am happy for her. I hope to see her again someday soon.
