This year, our office charity committee decided to hold a carnival of games at the same time as the annual Christmas party in the pantry, which happened last Wednesday.
But first, the food. I wasn’t at last year’s one but I think this may have been the best pantry Christmas party we’ve ever had so far.
Aside from festive looking ham and sausages and log cakes, they also had live stations, where booths with servers made popcorn, hotdogs, cotton candy, snow cones, and my favourite – rainbow cheese toast.
There was also a lot of beer and cider, but the cider wasn’t cold enough, so I had the brilliant idea of asking the snow cone guy to pour some of mine into a cup.
After we were done eating, we headed to the center to watch a pie face challenge. What the committee had done was ask people to pledge a minimum of $50 to nominate someone to do the pie face challenge. It’s not an actual pie to the face, though, just whipped cream. It was interesting to see some big bosses get pied in the face for sure. 😂
There were three other booths stationed around the pantry, and we got to play all games for $10 per 3 games. Booth #1 involved tossing tennis balls into a basin (I was surprisingly good at this). Booth #2 involved shooting down cans with nerf guns (I was unsurprisingly bad at this but YM was surprisingly a sharp shooter). Booth #3 involved darting balloons (I managed to hit one so yay I guess?). It was really fun and we managed to raise $3000 for charity. 🎅
