Last February, I flew to Tagaytay, Philippines, to attend the wedding of my friends Jon and Maybelle. Their official wedding hashtag was #JonGotSavedByTheBelle hence the title of this blog.
The wedding ceremony was held in Chapel on a Hill, a small pretty chapel that is perfect for intimate ceremonies.
A reception followed at Splendido Taal Country Club. I loved the rustic themed decorations.
I did my own makeup and bought my outfit from The Curve Cult, my favourite plus size boutique in Singapore. I wore a pink sequinned off-shoulder crop top paired with a black floor length tulle skirt with gold sequins on the waist band. I thought at first it might be overkill to accessorize the already overly glittery outfit, but it surprisingly looked great with a gold pearl necklace.
The food was superb, and the program was incredibly fun, with a live band, an emcee, and games. I went up and sang “I will” by the Beatles at one point.
At another point I was announced as the winner of the Facebook and Instagram hashtag post contest and got a prize for posting the chapel photo that I posted at the beginning of this post.
The videographers they hired (Ghe Consolacion Event Film Maker) made an extremely professional-looking same day edit video which you can watch below.
The program ended with the couple kissing while surrounded with their entourage holding sparklers, followed by fireworks.
I stayed at the nearby Splendido Hotel for the wedding, and I highly recommend it! It has a fantastic view overlooking Taal Lake and their amenities and food are quite good. I especially loved the pinakbet with bagnet. I managed to snag a good discount for the room on Agoda.
