My friend Drew was in Singapore for a long weekend, so we decided to meet up on a Saturday night (the 6th). A Singaporean friend suggested that I take him to Customs House which has a beautiful view of the Marina Bay, so I did just that. It was a fantastic suggestion, coz I had never been to Customs House before, and I don’t know why!
Kinki Rooftop Bar
Our first stop was Kinki Rooftop Bar at the top of the building. They have a happy hour of 1-for-1 drinks from 5-8pm on Mondays to Saturdays. We got there around 7pm and each ordered a couple of rounds of gin and tonic and shared a small platter of chicken wings.
The Kinki Rooftop Bar is an open area at the third floor of Customs House. It has a beautiful view overlooking Marina Bay Sands, with a Lighthouse-like structure that adds a whimsical touch.
Drew and I happily chatted for about an hour when suddenly, the sky exploded in a riot of colour – NDP 2019 rehearsal fireworks! Yay!
We were surprised at how long the fireworks went on for, and how grand they were. They certainly didn’t seem like rehearsal ones, but the real thing. You can catch part of it below.

Super Loco Customs House
After drinks, we headed downstairs to grab a Mexican dinner at Super Loco.
We were lucky that there was an empty table for two right at the edge of the restaurant which offered a beautiful view. We asked for said table and later asked the waiter to help take a photo, which he did brilliantly. We were also lucky that there was a cool breeze that night so it was actually nice to be in an al fresco area.
We ordered chicken quesadillas (6” tortillas, spice roasted chicken, oregano, coriander mayo, pico) and Cerdo (roasted pork belly, agave habanero pineapple, pickled red onions, apple slaw) for sharing. They were both delicious.

If you have visitors in Singapore or just want to hang out somewhere with a view, I definitely recommend Customs House. They have a few other restaurants in there aside from the ones I tried, so maybe next time I’ll go check those out.
