A couple of Saturdays ago found me and my friends May, Mico, and Adrian huffing and puffing our way to Dragon’s Back. It was Adrian’s brain child; he loves to hike and promised that it would be easy but well, I suppose he grossly overestimated my fitness ability. ๐
It probably didn’t help that the weather was a high 27 degrees even though we’re not even in summer yet. The sun felt too hot and we didn’t bring enough water, so I felt really dehydrated on the way back but had to ration what little water I had. Note to self: bring way more water next time (if there is a next time), and maybe carry it in a thermal flask so it stays cold.
But despite all those things I just said, I did enjoy the stunning view at the top.
The guys were not as risk-averse as me and even perched on top of rocks while we cracked jokes about how I’m supposed to explain to senior management if they fell off (we work in the same office).
It took almost half the day because I needed to do a lot of pauses and it wasn’t a straightforward path, we went one way and came back another.
I clocked in almost 18k steps at the end of the day – so it was an exhausting yet satisfying day.
Maybe I could be persuaded to go hiking again next time, but only if the weather is cooler, so… Autumn? ๐
