The weather is suddenly so hot lately that I can’t stand it. So I decided I needed to get a haircut and booked a cut and colour session at Mina Dev’ Wil Hair Dressing salon at Central.
I discovered this salon last time when I was searching for a reasonably priced hair salon and its name kept popping up in forums and Facebook groups. When I called a few salons and theirs was the cheapest quote, that sealed the deal.
The salon was pretty busy when I arrived, with plenty of customers, so I highly recommend making an appointment.
Senior stylist Lucas spoke English well, so I had no trouble communicating what I wanted. He was thorough and even asked me to show him samples of what I wanted exactly, which is good so that he could ensure we were on the same page.
The first thing he did was spray my hair with this nice smelling Schwarzkopf bonacure hyaluronic moisture kick. He said it was to make the hair more supple and manageable.
This was just one of the items that makes you realize you’re in a good salon. Other high quality brands that caught my eye – GHD, Bed Head TIGI, Livingproof.
First, he colored my hair and let it soak for a few minutes. Then someone else washed my hair and then he started cutting it while wet. Then he blew it dry and this was the end result:
I like the cut but I hope the colour gets lighter the more I wash my hair. If not, I’ll make a note to choose a lighter colour next time.
I was charged H$500 for the colour and H$188 for the haircut.
Overall, I’m happy with the service and will keep coming back here unless I find something more affordable with the same quality.
