When I was in Singapore, I discovered a scalp treatment that worked wonders on eliminating my dandruff – Bee Choo Origin. I was so happy to discover that they have salons in Hong Kong, too, and that one of them recently opened near me.
I discovered it by accident when I was walking along Queen’s Road East in Wan Chai one day and happened to glance up and saw this:
I immediately called up the number to book an appointment. Their last appointment slot of the day is at 5:30 pm. A session lasts around 90 minutes to two hours.
There is an entrance on the side of On Hing Mansion at the Tai Wong Street East side to get up there.
Then you just follow the signs on the steps until you find their door.
I was impressed with the customer service. My stylist was friendly, knew how to speak English, and always made sure I was comfortable with every step of the treatment.
The first step is coating all the hair and scalp with a herbal paste.
Bee Choo’s herbal paste contains Ling Zhi, the dual-modulating adaptogen that would help to regulate dry and dandruff scalp and help to regain its healthy state. Chuan Xiong found in the herbal paste is also known to help improve blood circulation which helps the sebaceous glands to function healthily.
This herbal hair treatment addresses these issues:
- Hair Loss
- White/Grey Hair
- Oily Itchy Scalp
- Dandruff
- Chemically damaged hair
- Bacterial infection
It has quite a strong herbal smell which stays in your hair for a day or two, but it’s worth it for the effects.
The next step is putting your head under a steamer for 45 minutes.
Then it’s rinsed out with shampoo followed by a blow dry. During the shampooing process, she even asked me if there was any part of my scalp that was itchy that I wanted her to scratch. So nice!
For the first trial session, I was given 12% off the price. This is their price list. My hair length is medium.
They also have toiletries that you can buy and use at home.
Here is the price list for those:
I bought a bottle of Purity Removed anti-dandruff shampoo and a bottle of Scalp hair tonic, a minty scalp spray which helps alleviate itchiness.
I’m really glad I discovered this salon near me because I used to go to one near Causeway Bay which is not as convenient and did not carry the full line of shampoos and hair tonics that I needed.
To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger: “I’ll be back!”
