My friend May suggested we go to Tai Tong Sweet Gum Woods, which is known for its colorful leaves in autumn. So off we went on the 19th of December with Mico, Neil, King and Beulah.
I made the mistake of not researching beforehand, and thought it would be easy to get to, so I wore a tulle skirt and faux leather jacket for pictorial purposes. When I realized that it involved a bit of hiking, I slipped off my skirt and luckily, my Uniqlo winter leggings were thick enough to pass as pants. 😅
But yes, the short hike going up there was worth it because of the beautiful view. We took a bajillion photos but here are my faves:
By the way, all of these pictures were taken with just an iPhone 12 owned by Neil. I was too lazy to bring my actual camera.
After posing under the colorful trees, we had to hike even further to exit out another area. I ended up with painful knees the next day. I am too old for this LOL. We ended up in a village where we booked an Uber XL to bring us to the Yoho mall, where we had booked Spiderman No Way Home tickets for the afternoon.
But before that, we had sumptuous chinese food for lunch at Crystal Jade. We were amused that we had a big private room to ourselves. We let May do the ordering since she was an expert on this restaurant. She did a good job, everything was delicious! Unless we were just hungry from our hike?
We also went shopping for discounted designer goods at the Isa outlet store. I ended up buying a red Prada card holder. Beulah tried on this gorgeous LBD from Valentino with a flattering hourglass cut. It was too expensive for her taste, though, so she didn’t buy it. Maybe someday, who knows?
We really enjoyed Spiderman No Way Home and all its nostalgic surprises.
Then on our way home, King and I had a funny moment when our absent mindedness caused to board the MTR towards the wrong direction.
Overall, it was an exhausting but fun experience. Maybe next time I’ll make sure to do my research and wear appropriate clothing!
