On Labour Day, I finally got a chance to pop into High Society Skin Clinic for a much needed oxygen facial after 2 months. My skin had been so parched and felt extremely hydrated afterwards.
Then I walked around Central and bought some skincare and makeup from Sasa, which was having a massive sale. A new product I tried and loved is the Romand juicy lasting tint in the Fig Fig shade. Look at how cute this Anessa x Marvel sunscreen is! The last time they had a collab was with Pokemon and of course I had to get my hands on the cute Pikachu package.
Then as I was walking past the bright yellow cafe that was Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel, I saw croissants through their display window and I realized that I was hungry.
So I walked in, and ordered the Sun Kwai Heung char siu and egg croissant which is described as juicy slices of char siu and a soft french omelette served with a fresh-baked croissant, finished with homemade honey mayonnaise. I got the combo option and chose an iced cafe latte for the drink.
Both were really delicious! I was glad I gave in to my random cravings.
The last time I was at this cafe was back in September 2021, when my friends mentioned that this cafe was made by the person who invented the cronut, which famously took off in New York years ago.
That time, since there were plenty of us, we decided to try a bunch of their different pretty looking pastries.
The last one is not a pastry, by the way, but an actual bamboo cup holding sugar cane soft serve ice cream, which tasted as what you’d expect.
About the other pastries – usually when you eat a pastry which looks as pretty as that, it is made of tacky tasting fondant. These actually tasted good. However, at their price point we felt that they were not worth it, and are worth a one time try just because they are quite photogenic and Instagrammable, but we’re not gonna eat them again. Which is why I didn’t buy any of the New York collection pastries when I was there again.
