Tyne’s Farewell @ Red Dot Brew House

My friend Tyne moved to Toronto over the weekend, but before she left Singapore, she asked if we could have one last night out with her. So we did just that the weekend before. I thought she wanted to go to a bar but for some reason, we ended up at a restaurant with a live band, which she said was perfect.

Maya and I were late, as we had come from a housewarming party before that, so we didn’t eat much except for some pizza, which was really good.

We did get to drink, however. And while Red Dot is supposed to be famous for its own brewed beer, including that green one you see above, I hate beer, so I decided to order a bottle of Brothers toffee apple premium cider instead.

And whoa, I just discovered my new favourite cider of all time! I liked it so much that I thought this must be what butterbeer tastes like! But now I realise that it didn’t even have any hint of butter taste in it, just toffee, so what was I thinking?

I also tried the Brothers strawberry pear cider but didn’t like it as much as the toffee one. Maybe because it’s too sour.

I loved the overall look of the place, with the trees and hanging ball lights, a cozy outdoorsy place to chill with good food and company.

I also really loved the band! They had such wonderful vocals and even spoke to the guests in between sets, asking us if we had any requests. Brian said he had seen them perform at a wedding he attended. They are named Shili & Adi. Seems like they are quite a popular duo.

We requested them to sing “Leaving on a Jetplane” for our friend who was leaving. You can hear part of it hear. Aren’t they good?

It was the perfect place to have one last dinner with Tyne. We’re definitely going to miss her, but we’re happy for her.
