A Steaming Tale

Since it’s healthier to eat steamed food, I ordered a steamer online from Courts last week.

They delivered it on Tuesday night, then delivered another one yesterday morning. 😅

Both were accepted by my flatmates on my behalf so they didn’t know that there should have been only one.

I was planning to call them about it but they called me first, so they’re taking the other one back.

As expected, I completely fell off the diet wagon. I’m trying to get back on by “cooking” a healthy breakfast and lunch.

I hate cooking because it usually takes a lot of effort so I’m really happy with how easy it is to use the steamer I just bought.

I just pop everything I needed into one layer – like siew mai, eggs, and sweet corn, pour water into the bottom pan, turn it on, and let it be for 5 minutes.

I divid everything in half and pack one part into a takeaway container to bring to lunch and the rest on this plate. I add baby carrots and a grapefruit into the mix and voila – healthy fast food! 😄

Sometimes I steam siew mai plus cauliflower with baby carrots.

I learned my lesson from one day’s tasteless broccoli, so I crack an egg into the mix and season it with garlic pepper seasoning.

This is the seasoning I tried. Tastes good!
