Last week, I joined a contest in Elle Magazine via their Facebook group and won a pair of tickets to the finale of Heering Accessorize 2009 – the world championship in fashion mixing and drink designing. Mixologists create a Heering cocktail inspired by a haute couture dress and designers create a Heering cocktail dress inspired by a drink. I decided to take Gelle, who was the first one to express interest in the event. Last night, we dressed up and went to Raffles Hotel’s Ballroom and enjoyed cocktails and Heering cherry liquor-based drinks (including the famous Singapore Sling) before the main event.
The host was Nadya Hutagalung, an MTV VJ during our school years. For Gelle and me, it was the first time to watch a live fashion show on a catwalk. The models were so beautiful and leggy. It made me realize that I have no right to be one and might as well give up on that idea. Hahaha. There were thirteen finalists for each category. In the end, the winners were the Japanese mixologist Eiji Miyazawa and the Greek designer Alifraghis Loukas-Athanasios.
After the event we had cocktails and desserts and each guest was given a bag of freebies to take home – a bottle of Heerin Cherry Liquor, a glass, and an Elle magazine.
It was a fabulous night. We enjoyed it immensely indeed. ^__^
