This a funny and informative video that just about covers it all:
The video just about tackles it all but I would like to add bits on how to look slim for the camera, which I’m good at. Take a look at this picture of me. I look so slim, no? Everyone says so. But in reality, I wasn’t.
So how did I achieve that?
1. Keep the camera at a high angle to make your face appear thinner.
2. Tuck your hair behind your ears. It’s a common misconception that hiding your face with your hair makes it look thinner. It doesn’t. The hair’s volume only makes your face look bigger – as big as your hair.
3. If your face has bone structure, angle it to the side – your jaw bones will make it appear defined and thin instead of round.
4. Keep your arms away from your body so they won’t look so big. You can put your hands on your hips or just rest your elbows on somebody else’s shoulders. Or you can hide them completely.
5. If you’re sitting down, cross your legs so that the camera won’t capture how big your thighs actually are.
5. The age-old “chest out, stomach in” works wonders, believe me.
6. Create curves with your body so that you’ll look sexy instead of just lumpy. Spend time finding just the right posture to achieve that.
7. Be as far away from the camera as possible. If you’re with other people, make sure you’re not in front. Move to the back or hide some parts of your body behind other people.
The right outfits can give the illusion of thinness, too.
