Ramen Play and Guess Earrings

Arlyn invited me to lunch last Sunday. At first I wondered if she had a problem that she needed to talk to me about but it turns out she just wanted to hang out. Haha I am so paranoid.

I suggested we head to Nex Mall since it was just one MRT from both her and my place, Serangoon station being on both purple and yellow line. She agreed, and suggested we eat at Ramen Play because someone had handed her a flyer advertising the place.

The place was very nice-looking, a surprise considering their very affordable rates. I loved the furnishings, and entire wall was made of a mirror, lending the illusion of space to the place. It did a superb job of doing that because I didn’t even realize I was looking at myself and got surprised when I waved to get the waiter’s attention and a girl on the other side of the room did the same – no wait, that’s me!

There we are! Lovely place, isn’t it?

Our drinks were served first and we laughed at the disparity between my huge glass and her small one. But her green tea was refillable. I’m loving Arlyn’s new hairdo. She says she uses a thin hair iron to style it thus, giving it body.

We both ordered ramen meals. I’ve come to look at ramen as our friendship food because I first tried and liked ramen with Arlyn, Yves and Betchie. Nothing can beat Marutama ramen, but this was a close second out of all the few ramens I’ve tried in Singapore.
As usual I asked which was their best-selling one and the waiter pointed out the one that had three kinds of pork in it. All the meat was very tasty and I slurped up every last bit of soup.
the second best ramen I’ve ever tried
I also liked the side dish that my ramen came with. The spring roll was artistically arranged and tasted good as well.
After eating we decided to walk around and do what girls do best – shopping! We both fell in love with a  gorgeous pair of rose gold colored heart shaped Guess earrings.
And so the next thing you know…

I hope next time Betchie is free to join us. Yves can’t because she’s in Japan for now… in Japan, where today she had a harrowing experience with a two-hour earthquake. She said she had to wear a helmet the entire time and twice they had to crawl under the table when the earthquake was at its worst. Then all the subways and elevators were not working so she had to walk all the way home. Poor dear. I hope she stays safe.
