2019 Highlights

In a few hours, 2019 will wrap up and 2020 – a new decade – will be upon us.  Oh my, where did the time go? 

Here are the highlights of my year:

Travel

• I was a wedding singer for my friend Maybelle’s wedding in Tagaytay, Philippines and met up with friends while there.
• I visited my parents at their new home in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
• I went on a staycation in Sentosa.
• I saw some of the best corals I’ve ever seen in my life while snorkelling in Berjaya Tioman Resort.
• I was a bridesmaid for my friend Cate’s wedding in Sydney, Australia and climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, among other things.
• I went on a food trip in Penang, Malaysia.
• I had a business trip to Pune, India and learned to love Indian food
• Dred travelled to Singapore to spend her birthday with us. I hadn’t seen her since she moved to Toronto in 2017!

New Experiences

• I moved into a lovely two-bedroom flat with Jemma, where I had issues installing wifi and a bunch of my dresses got stolen from the laundry line. But now it’s all good, the flat’s great and this is the least number of flatmates I have ever had in my life.
• I was invited to be on the live set of Asia’s Got Talent grand finals.
• I took guitar lessons from Aureus Academy.
• I attended a VBA macro course and now know how to read and write macros.

Achievements

• I attended a company D&D at the beginning of the year. The theme was Crazy Rich Asians and my team finally won first prize for Office Funniest Videos.
• I got promoted at work.
• I got nominated as best dressed for our yearend D&D but lost the title to my flatmate Jemma.
• We won second prize at the office christmas decors contest.
• I lost 7 kilos. That’s a total of 15 kilos since I started keto in Oct’18!
• I cried while watching Avengers: Endgame. Twice. Okay maybe this isn’t an achievement for me, but it is certainly one for MCU – a culmination of a decade’s work.

It was a pretty good year, one of the best ones I had this decade, actually!
