After watching Star Trek Into Darkness, Dred and I decided to have dinner and found ourselves in Nana’s Green Tea in Plaza Singapura’s new wing. I loved the design of the place. It was spacious and had interesting details, like screens separating the tables and windows framed with lights.
They were high tech, too, with this thing over here which you can use to call a waiter for service or the bill, all with a mere push of a button.
Nana’s serves Japanese food. I’m always a fan of teriyaki chicken, so that’s what I ordered. I was quite happy with the taste. It was like your typical teriyaki chicken.
Mildred wanted soup, so this is what she chose. She was very happy with it, saying she loved the taste of the soup and the fat noodles.
Nana’s specialty is their green tea, so of course we had to try that. There lots of variants in the menu so it was hard to choose.
I got curious about the HOJI-CHA or roasted green tea. I had the Hoji soft cream latte – Hoji latte topped with soft serve vanilla ice cream. It tasted like a kind of suman we have back home. I didn’t really like it, but I managed to drink it all up. Maybe the one with the chocolate syrup would have tasted better.
Meanwhile Dred is a huge green tea fan so she had the Matcha Shiratama slushy – Matcha slushy topped with matcha ice cream and motchi. She liked it.
I guess it wasn’t a bad meal, though the food wasn’t that memorable to me. I’ve definitely had better Japanese food.

Neat place! Those windows almost look like dressing mirrors. The food looked tasty, though egg in the teriyaki chicken is new to me. Those sound like interesting drinks to try.

Shannon at The Warrior Muse
